Martin Waldseemüller
b around 1475 as Martinus Walzenmüller de Friburgo Constantiensis Diocesis at Wolfenweiler near Freiburg (D), studied at the University of Freiburg and became a learned Humanist and theologist as well as celebrated cartographer; died as a canon of St Dié in Lorraine, probably at the beginning of 1522.
