Victoria Vesna
* 1959 in Washington D.C. (USA); 1976 HS of Art and Design, New York (USA); 1984 Diploma in Fine Arts at the University of Belgrade (YU), Faculty of Fine Arts; 2000 Ph.D. at CaiiA – Centre for Advanced Studies in Interactive Arts, University of Wales (UK); Victoria Vesna is an artist, professor and Chair of the Department of Design | Media Arts at the UCLA School of the Arts. Vesna's work can be defined as experimental research that connects networked environments to physical public spaces. She explores how communication technologies effect collective behavior, and shift perceptions of identity in relation to scientific innovation. Her theoretical work deals with the history of art & computing, society and bio/ nano technology, database aesthetics. Lives and works in Los Angeles, CA (USA).
