b 1952 in Schwerte/Ruhr (D); studied anthropology, theology and mathematics; 1974–78 free art, department of graphics and design at the Werkkunstschule, Cologne (D); from the early 1980s, sculptural work and drawings, and works in ink, pencil, chalk or oil on paper; late 70s first «animal films»; from the mid 1990s, intensive concern with video and artistic projects with Carsten Höller; lives and works in Cologne.
