Hans Scheirl
b in Salzburg (A). Since 1979 he works as a freelance filmmaker, performer and artist in London (GB). He graduated 1980 from the Academy of Visual Arts in Vienna (A), where he studied conservation and technology. 1985–1986 Video training at the Media Workshop in Vienna. He studies art at the Central St. Martin’s College of Art in London since 2001. His Super-8 and feature films (among others «Red Ears Tearing Through Ash» from 1992 and «Dandy Dust» from 1998) are shown at movie theaters and festivals. Hans Scheirl is the member of a London-based group of progressive «transgendered» men, who call themselves Cyborg and have a deep interest in transformation. The other members of their group are De LaGrace, Volcano, and Svar Simpson.
