 Rainald Goetz

* 1954. Labeled a «Pop literary figure,» Rainald Goetz has published novels («Irre,» 1983), stories, and plays («Krieg,» 1986; «Jeff Koons,»1998) since 1983. For his Internet project, «Abfall für Alle» (1998/1999), Goetz posted day by day on his homepage ‹recordings› of his work process, his encounters, his thoughts and phone calls, etc. (published in book form in 1999). Like in his other texts, in this text as well not only do Techno-music and the Techno-scene play a role as the theme; they also dictate the structure of the text (especially in «Rave,» 1998; also in «Mix, Cuts & Scratches,» 1997, together with Webstbam). Goetz repeatedly posted photographic images alongside his texts (as done in «Celebration. Bilder und Texte zur Nacht,» 1999). He was recently awarded the Wilhelm Raabe Literary Prize (2004).
