 Marlene Dietrich

* 1901 – gestorben 1992; lived as a movie star in Germany, France and the USA. As an actress she had worked with the directors Josef von Sternberg, Fritz Lang, Lubitsch, Billy Wilder, Alfred Hitchcock. She supported anti-fascist activists, helped Jewish emigrants and worked for the American army. She had a child, Maria Riva, who later wrote her biography. In her last years, she barely made a living and fell ill with multiple sklerosis.
