MS Stubnitz was a ship of the fleet of the former GDR, about to be destroyed in 1991 when it was eventually saved by a group of Austrian, Swiss and German artists who turned the ship into a production and presentation facility shipping around in the Baltic Sea, equipped with a satellite link to television and Internet, performance spaces and exhibition spaces.
