b 1931 in New York (USA); 1950-55 studied painting at the Corcoran Gallery School, Washington (USA); 1969 moved to Amsterdam (NL); 1974 started artistic work with video and light; parallel work with videotapes, installations, performances and photography; professor at the Kunstakademie Dusseldorf; lives and works in Amsterdam (NL).
