The German painter and graphic artist Albrecht Dürer (1471-1528) introduced the achievements of the Italian Renaissance into northern European art. He worked as a painter, printer, graphic artist in Nuremberg. His prints diffused his new style, a fusion of the German realistic tradition with the Italian ideal of beauty.
